How free up space in your Google drive

I use Google drive in my day to day life. It is now a necessary part of my work process.

Suddenly, one day I noticed that the drive shows not enough space and 14.1 GB space was occupied.

Damn, 14.1 GB, that is huge.

So here I will just tell you what you can to do, but a tutorial on how exactly to do it - step to step will be available at www.lazyoandas.club. Will link later once the article is complete.

So here's what to do to free up space in Google Drive:

1. Keep your emails clean. Yes guys emails, the attachments in emails takes up space in Google Drive. I deleted 4k emails which freed up more than 200 MB.

You might think 200MB not a big deal for 15MB space in Google drive. But guess what?

I calculated I can still delete atleast 26k more emails that will free up 1-1.5 GB now that's a legit big deal. Isn't it?

2. The files you upload in Google drive takes space (google doc, google forms, google sheets doesn't) delete unnecessary ones.

You find a list sorted according to the file size in Quota section.

3. There are some apps that takes up hidden space, delete those if you find they are taking sigfican't amount of space.

How to do it?

Well wait for the article to come.

4. Delete unnecessary videos and photos from Google Photos (if auto backup is selected for original file size. Check your phone's Google photo) Recover space in Google photos. Goto setting, then recover space.

5. Make sure to your mobile device has Selected high quality backup in google photos. As the high quality option doesn't take up space in Google Drive.

Here is i have a complain. My selected option for backup was high quality, shouldn't be taking up space. Which it was taking. 8 GB Videos. Don't no why. but I deleted all and recovered space.

Again how exactly to do will be in next article.

*When I say delete. Delete the file from bin too.
